Other features

It has good strength [2], it’s resistant to abrasion and heat, possesses good vibration reduction, and excellent casting performance, which requires manual aging treatment.

 

Using range

Can be used for pump shells, containers, towers, flanges, packing box bodies and glands, carbonization towers, nitrification towers etc. Also employed in manufacturing, machine beds, columns, cylinders, gears and surface quenching parts.

Due to its resistance to deformation by heat, it is employed in high temperature environments.

 

Specification and organization

Heat treatment specification :(determined by the supplier, the following is the heat treatment specification for a sample for reference) in as-cast condition

Microstructure: flake graphite + pearlite

The HT250 can be quenched up to HRC60, but gray cast iron (HT200, HT250, etc.) is generally used in annealing or normalizing state without quenching. If hardness is required locally, high and medium frequency quenching is acceptable.

Medium frequency quenching: 3~5 mm hardening layer, hardness HRC50, the workpiece deformation is small.

High frequency quenching: 1~2 mm quenching layer, quenching temperature is 850, surface hardness HRC50 or above; Quenching temperature 900~1000 degrees, surface hardness up to HRC60.
